Adhikaar, meaning rights in Nepali, is a New York-based non-profit organization working with Nepali communities to promote human rights and social justice for all.

Leadership Development

Adhikaar Leadership Institute is a peer-led program that builds leadership and community among Adhikaar members who are mostly low-income Nepali-speaking immigrants, diverse in age, gender, and life experiences, so that they can identify and advocate for meaningful changes in the lives of immigrants and workers in New York, and become leaders in social justice movements. It builds upon Adhikaar's other community education and awareness programs.

Adhikaar Youth Group provides a safe space and leadership development opportunities for young Nepalis aged 13-25. The group organizes events and activities on issues of importance to young adults.

We also use art as a tool for leadership development, to explore the challenges of immigrant lives and find creative solutions.
